ago, before information sources like Internet, and eBay were invented.  In fact, the only books I could find at the time were Irving Sloan’s book on classical guitar construction and steel guitar construction book by David Russell Young.

I gave up after finding that  building required more tooling than the  few bicycle tools, a carpenter’s hammer and the Sears chisel set I had in my cellar.

What a pleasant surprise when I got the bug again a few years ago.  There were hundreds of web sites, books, and videos galore.  I became like the little red fire engine who said I know I can, I know I can, as I  studied everything I could get my hands on.  And eBay—wow!!!!  Went from buying a few items to becoming a Power Seller.  Another hobby of mine that helps support the habit—I mean hobby!!

Well that’s it for now.  Back to cellar.  Hope you find my website useful.  I welcome emails from others like myself who share my obsessive compulsive approach to relaxation by gluing together pieces of exotic wood that ultimately become an instrument that plays in tune, and can be enjoyed for years to come.

Welcome to My Web Site

Hello and welcome to my web site.  I am an Amateur Luthier, or at least I like to think of myself as one.

Not sure when one receives the title of  “Professional Luthier”  but I know I am not there yet.  Seems like I always manage to build defects into my guitars.  But I keep trying for the perfect guitar.

I actually started my journey into guitar building some twenty-five years

My newest project (Number 17)  in the works:  Brazilian Rosewood back and sides.  Extreme bear claw Sitka soundboard.  Ebony fret board with pearl and abalone inlay.  Martin 000 size with depth of a Dreadnought.  Ready for finish, attach the neck and string her up!!
